It is a Slip Decorated Redware platter, Profusely Decorated With Deer, Tulips, and one of the finest Folk Art Eagles I have ever seen gracing the Center. The Eagle has a Banner Reading " Liberty", and the Date of " 1817" . There is a Rim Chip seen on the Right Side ,hardly noticeable, the rest of this Exceptional Piece is 100% Pure American Folk Art, and is Original . The Back side reads " Shooner Pottery " including his 3 standard impressed Stamps and also " Greg Shooner, Warren Co. Ohio, 1998". If you know of or Collect Greg's Work ,you'll know that his pieces are highly Collectible, and when he does a Show, people actually stand in line to buy his Pieces.This piece would have an estimated Shop or Show Value of about 1,000.00 to 1,800.00. It measures about 15" x 17" ,and it is about 2 3/4" deep. When Greg makes a piece ,he ages it ,and from the front ,it appears like an original.
