Here we have a reallygreat 19th Century New England woven splint gathering basket with awonderful rich nut brown surface.

This gathering basket has an oval rim measuring 21 3/8"X 16 1/2"and a rectangular bottom measuring approximately 14"X 9".

Unfortunately the handle is missing from this basket; however, it is still a strong, sturdy and beautiful piece.

This New England basket has a double-lashed rim, no nail construction and awonderfulrich, nut brown time agedpatina all over.

There is age appropriate wear on the bottom mostly on the corners that can be seen in photo # 7 & 12.

This gathering basketmeasures 21 3/8"wide,16 1/2" deepand 7 1/2" tall.
