The museum tag states this is an Italian hat from the late 19th century - I don\'t have enough experience with this style of garment to be able to verify this, but it is certainly an original old example. There are double-headed eagles on the decorative \"buttons\" at the two ends, which might help date and identify the piece further (possibly Austria / Austro-Hungarian Empire). I haven\'t seen many of these, but this is by far the best condition I have seen. A lovely example and a fine addition to your collection of historical clothing.
