ANTIQUE AMERICAN E. HOWARD & CO BOSTON No. 70 OAK REGULATOR CLOCK
This listing is for an antique American oak regulator clock by E. Howard & Co. The clock measures 31 inches high, 15 ½ inches wide, and is 5 inches deep (79 by 39.5 by 12.5 cm).
The clock has a 12 ½ inch painted metal dial with black Roman hour numerals signed “E. HOWARD & CO BOSTON”, with has blued spade hands. The clock has a quality, brass, weight driven, No. 70 movement, signed “E. HOWARD & CO BOSTON”. It has recoil escapement, damascened brass pendulum bob with wood stick, black painted weight baffle, lockdown hardware and iron No. 70 weight. The case is oak with a square, drop form case with original reverse painted tablet having minor black in painting. The case has its original finish with overcoat. At the bottom of the reverse painted door is a brass plaque with the number “13”.
The condition of the clock overall is very good. The wood is in very good condition with only minor scuffs to the surface. The dial has wear to the face around the screw holes. There is also minor wear to reverse painted glass.
