ANTIQUE ART DECO LUX MYSTERY ROTARY TAPE MEASURE DESK CLOCK WORKING 1930s N/R:
$38.50

For sale is this unusual American made, vintage rotary tape measure clock

Tape measure clocks were popular in the 1930s. They were a revolutionary way to display time. The top rotates to indicate time on the numbered band aroundthe circumference. The numbered band resembles a tape measure, thus giving this style of clock it\'s name.

This vintage, American, all mechanical, wind up clock starts right up when wound, is a strong ticker, and keeps great time. It\'s a time-only clock with no chimes or alarms.

These Art Deco style clocks came in a variety of paint colors with gold plated accents. The gold plating has long ago been mostly rubbed away through normal use, this has not been repainted, it\'s all original (they\'re usually a bit faded from sun bleaching over the years). Regardless, this clock has all its original parts and has retained its great vintage look and feel, bright silver color behind all the black numbers.

The only thing done to this clock was to have it cleaned and serviced by a clock maker

You set the time on this clock by turning the top cover clockwise, there\'s no need to remove the top cover to set the time. The clock is 5\" in diameter and about 3 1/\"4\" tall, including the knob on the top.

As far as these clocks go, this one is in really excellent condition, and is one of the best examples I\'ve seen. Please see the pictures!
