Antique Art Deco Radiobar Co Of America Rca 5r28 Victor Tube Radio & Vtg Barware For Sale
Just acquired out of a Private Midwest estate, we are able to offer this original, 1930's era ~ RCA VICTOR 5R28 RADIOBAR CO. OF AMERICA LOS ANGELES, CA. FLOOR MODEL RADIO ~ This unique radio with a built in bar on the top has been in the estate since it was purchased new back in the 1930's " by their Grandfather". The serial number on the RCA Victor tube receiver is 000947 and it also reads: 5R28. The brass tag on the front bar area reads: Patent Pending, so I believe that this was probably one of the very first Radiobar models produced. It was found with all most all of its original Barware still tucked away inside, as well as the original Art Deco mirror. The top bar interior area is in really nice original condition! It has both ice buckets as well as the original ice tongs. There are a total of 36 pieces of barware, counting the ice buckets and tongs. The pieces are as follow: TWO ICE BUCKETS WITH ORIGINAL TONGS, 5 - 2 1/2 INCH SHOT GLASSES, 6 - 4" JUICE GLASSES, 6 - 3 1/4" COCKTAIL GLASSES, 5 - 4 7/8" TUMBLERS AS WELL AS THREE 10" DECANTERS WITH THE ORIGINAL METAL SHOT GLASSES AND GOLD TASSELS. The 10 inch decanters are BOURBON, SCOTCH AND GIN. The condition on the barware is quite good with the exception of a few very minor rim flakes and the Brandy decanter has the top broken " so please do not count that one". The majority of the pieces are in very good condition with vivid silvering. The radio measures 46 inches tall by 30 inches wide by 15 inches deep. We did not plug it in, although the estate where it came from said they remember doing so and only heard a hum. The over all condition on the radio is quite nice with the exception of the veneer on the top lid has damage and some missing pieces. The majority of the veneer on the sides and front is in very good condition, as is the entire radio given its age of some 80 or so years old. PLEASE FEEL FREE to email me for more pictures you may need or for questions you may have and I will be happy to help! The new owner is to arrange for pick up in TOLEDO, OHIO. I am very easy to find only 10 minutes from exit 59 of the Ohio Turnpike. I would also be willing to store the radio here at my home for a couple months or so, if that would help you to better plan a trip to the Toledo, area and personally pick up your radio. All I would ask is that pay about half the final amount at the completion of the sale and the balance would be due at pick up. !N GOOD LUCK! Thanks! Jeff
