Here we have a19th Century Bennington yellowareale pitcher in Rockingham glaze anddecorated with a wonderful hunting ale pitcher measures 8 3/4"tall at the handleand weighs3 pounds 14 ounces. It is 8" from spout to handle and about 9" wide at the belly.

It is decorated with a hunting scene including three hounds chasing a buck in a forest setting on one side and two mounted horsemen on the other.

The handle is in the form of a branch band thereis a floral motif below therim and a design under the belly.

This ale pitcher is Rockingham brown salt glazed on the outside and on the inside leaving only the bottom unglazed.

The glaze is lighter in some areas which only adds to the charm and it has a wonderful unique partially unglazed base.

There is a one inch chip on the rim by the handle and some other small chips on and below the buck (photo 11).

There arechipson both the top and bottom of the handle and some small nicks on the rim.
