ANTIQUE CIRCA 1840 BLUE TRANSFERWARE " FLORENTINE " T.J. MAYER STAFFORDSHIRE PLATTER
A lovely, circa 1840, blue & white transferware platter that was made by " T. J. & J. Mayer " in the Staffordshire District of England. The pattern is called " Florentine " and features castles around the border and people in the foreground. This platter measures 12 5/8" long x about 9 5/8" across and the rim is about 1" high. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and it still has a very shiny surface. It has the usual crazing and a very faint discoloration from age and use (not really noticeable).
