I have for sale this wonderful genuine antique lace bonnet, it is French and has been beautifully hand made to a very high standard, this bonnet would have been very expensive when first commisioned, it was found on an antique market here in the South of France, there is so much wonderful detail to this bonnet, my photographs simply do not do it justice, please see all 12 of my photo\'s, you will see that the bonnet starts with a gently gathered or ruched deep blue velvet band, then gathered black lace that is adorned with two rossettes made of silk ribbons and each side of these rossettes are loop made into a black net of black sequins, in the centre of the back of the bonnet is a panel of embroidered on glass beads, sequins and large black discs, these discs look to be made of a celluloid type material, the bonnet has an elastic to hold the bonnet in place, the bonnet ties at the front with exquisite black lace, adorned with black sequins, please see photo. This wonderful early bonnet will date to the late 1800s, the condition is quite good, commensurate with it\'s age, it would make a very interesting example for an antique costume museum or collection and fabulous for an antique doll, when only the very best will do. To measure the hat is not easy, the front is on a wired frame, this frame not stretched measure wide approx 6\" or 15cm.
