Antique C&o Railroad Syracuse China Celery Dinnerware Chesapeake & Ohio Chessie For Sale
For your consideration I am pleased to offer this wonderful vintage piece of railroading history! This rare celery tray was made by Syracuse China for the Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Railroadand this pattern is said to havebeen in useon the Hocking Valley Railway train The Buckeye, which ran between Columbus, OHand Toledo, OH. The C&O Railroad was formed in 1869 and ran as such into the 1960's when they consolidated with the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O), and the Western Maryland Railroads to form The Chessie System. Later on, through another series of consolidations they have become to bewhat we know today as the CSX Railroad. This piece measures 9 3/4" x 4 5/8", and stands 1 1/4" tall. This lovely piece is decorated with wreaths topped with black bows, and joined by swags of bellflowers, and the C&O Railroad logo. It is marked on the back; O.P.CO., Syracuse China, B-12. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, but there are some light utensil scratches present on the inside bottom surface. The graphics are bright and vibrant, and with no areas of color loss. This is a great piece for any vintage railroad dinnerware collector, or a rare item Syracuse china collector!
