THE BRASS OR BRONZE PLAQUE ATTACHED TO THE WOOD PLUG IS A RAISED IMAGE OF WASHINGTON WITH HIS NAME AROUND HIS IMAGE.
THE PLAQUE WAS ORIGINALLY A PERIOD MEMORIAL DRAWER PULL FOR A PIECE OF FURNITURE. SOMEONE ATTACHED IT TO THE POWDERHORN TO ALWAYS CARRY THE IMAGE OF WASHINGTON AROUND.
GREAT OLD NAILS AND ORIGINAL 1700S PERIOD STRING STILL ATTACHED TO THE HORN.
GREAT PATINA!
CONDITION: THERE IS SOME WEAR, DENTS, DINGS TO THE PLAQUE FROM AGE & USE. THE HORN ITSELF HAS SOME CRACKING BUT OVERALL IS A STABLE PIECE.
IT WILL LOOK AMAZING IN ANY COLLECTION!
THE HORN MEASURES AROUND 11.5 INCHES LONG INCLUDING THE WOOD STOPPER IN THE MEASUREMENT. THE GW PLAQUE IS AROUND 2 3/8 INCHES IN DIAMETER
