• This is the famous Kenrick & Son cast-iron "Bat" Door-Knocker and Letter-Box
• Can be seen on page 41 of Michael Owen's reference book "Antique Cast Iron" which shows Kenrick catalogues
• On the back, there is a lozenge which dates this to c1899
• Measures 24cm tall by 11cm wide
• Original fixing bolts intact (measure 6cm long and 19cm apart) but look rusty so may need replacing
• Also needs a new spring for letter-flap
• Condition: layers of paint removed but traces remaining, so needs a little TLC
• On the back, traces of adhesives
• Weighs one and a quarter kilos before packing
• Not the best condition, but could be restored to former glory in the right hands
• Useful and highly collectable with low start and
