Antique English Silver Thimble Made By Charles Horner Of Halifax. Dated 1906. For Sale
Antique fully Hallmarked English Sterling Silver thimble. Made by, Charles Horner of Northgate, Halifax. The Hallmark reads as follows. Size 9. C.H. Lion Passant, indicating English Sterling Silver. Chester City Shield, being the Assay stamp. Horizontal upper register itallic style F., the date letter for 1906. The thimble has an off set faceted base rim, still in the round. The bottom half of the casing displays a random dog tooth design. This in corporates the Hallmark. The remainder of the thimble is finished in the classic Honeycombe design. It measures 20. mm. tall, with a base diameter of 15. mm. It weighs 3.9. grams. Except for some needle scratches, the thimble is damage free. No needle holes, denets or distortions.
