Antique Ex Museum Silk Lined Silk Embroidered Pink Mandarin Style Baby Robe:
ANTIQUE EX MUSEUM SILK LINED SILK EMBROIDERED PINK MANDARIN STYLE BABY ROBEThis is a rare, interesting fine collectible indeed.
It is from my own personal collection.
This is a museum quality infant silk embroidery on silk
lined silk mandarin styled antique pink silk robe.
Robe is in like new condition as has been under glass (literally) for 100 years.
It was a display in Crocker Art Gallery & Gibson House Sacramento/Woodland CA.
The Crocker Gallery opened in 1882.
The Gibson House Museum started in 1960.
This item is so exquisite that the whole time I've owned it
I have been worried I might damage it!
The Victorian Silk museum rob is in excellent quite usable condition.
Quality of the item, the silk and hand work rosettes in silk floss are outstanding.
No stains, no tears, no pulls!
Premium (dupioni?) silk small infant robe w/ exceptional 1 inch silk rosesttes.
Measures 17 inches long x 8 inches around upper arm.
Sleeves measure 6 inches long
Measures 8 inches around neck.
Silk floss rosesttes throughout arms, back, front.
Attention to detail is shown throughout the piece.
Its in perfect mint condition.
The fabric feels so nice and so soft.
I do not have any paperwork that can support the facts about the museum.
I bought this way back in 2001 on .
I saved all the information that was in the listing and I believed it all.
The item lived up to the details in the listing.
It was gently laundered and delicately ironed.
I have not needed to do any additional care other than hanging it in my collection.
I believed it then and I believe it now, even though I have no proof of it.
(other than what the other seller told me)
This was a very respectible seller and is infact, still on today.
Her field of expertise purports to be textiles from 18-19th century.
Simply gorgeous museum piece for a baby.
I can't help but consider it a piece of history.
