1920s ANTIQUE FELT CLOTH DOLL 20\" Raynal Lenci Type Zig Zag Jointed Swivel Head :

Large, harder-to-find felt doll, measuring approx. 20\" tall; this doll is a Raynal / Lenci type with a face that looks French to me; she is jointed, with a head that turns and she has zig-zag stitching in the back; I did not find any markings on her so I don\'t know where she was made or who made her, and I did not remove her clothing as it is delicate and I did not wish to damage it; her overall color-styling reminds me of Vermeer paintingsHer clothes may be original; the dress is gauze and rayon? and the rayon part has somewhat of an ombre effect. She has a bright waist ribbon and no shoes, but her feet were stitched to look like she has slipper shoes on; her hair looks synthetic (mohair?) and original also--it\'s a hot mess, but does give her a charming, \"kid at play\" lookShe shows age-appropriate wear--there are small holes/nap wear spots to the felt in places, and the dress and wig show age wear and fabric soilage, small tears & creasing, etc.; the underclothes have some dye-staining from the outer clothing; her body feels firmly stuffed and I didn\'t notice any leaks or tears; the hands are nicely shaped; I have not attempted to clean her--she is exactly as she came to me--please see all of the photosStored for decades, yet she doesn\'t have any strong odors and she still presents well (if you don\'t mind the messy hair); I believe she is getting close to 80-100 years old but despite the wear she is still so charming...Her painted brown eyes are lovely--I have always liked the facial designs of these dolls from the 1920s and 1930s; this doll would be a wonderful addition to any doll display and a great find for antique cloth doll collectors--
