A CHARMING ANTIQUE 19th CENTURY LONG OBLONG FORM SALT CELLAR BOWL with PERCHED GOTHIC STYLE SERPENTINE DRAGON / GARGOYLE TYPE HANDLESon either end. Central located blank reserves in cartouche on both sides bracketed by repousse acanthus florals. Cast everted acanthus decorated feet.

Marked underneath with a FLEUR DE LIS & an 800 silver purity stamp.

Although the fleur-de-lis could indicate a French maker, these are more likely of 19th Century Italian origin. Either way - they're very detailed and great for any serious collection of salts or continental silver. Especially if your goal is an emphasis on unusual and memorable pieces.

It measures a lengthy 4 1/2" across x 2 1/4" high. Weighs approx. 2.6 ounces!
