This is a SUPERIOR ORIGINAL CONDITION example of an EARLY BLACK FOREST German LARGE 2 WEIGHT 30 HOUR time & strike - Cuckoo Clock in SUPER LOOKING AND SUPER WORKING condition. CIRCA THE LATE 1880s. This clock is very happy with a very cheerful hand carved wood bird, which sings to you every half-hour– once on the half hour and strikes the number of the hours on the hour with cuckoos and a gong strike. When the cuckoo sings it pops out of its house, smiles at you while singing, flutters his wings, opens his beak and jumps back in and slams the door! Also you can see the original pendulum swing with each passing second. The weights are very large and heavy! The case, dial, movement are in superior condition and the clock runs and strikes perfectly. The hand carved case is in a good as they get condition with the original finish . Not perfect but nearly so after over 130 years. There are lots of carvings, complete with carved designs and the bird singing its little heart out. The dial is in superior condition with original numbers and original bone hands. The gong is original, as is the entire clock including the original back door. The pipes are original. It includes the original pendulum. Includes the original very heavy weights to the clock. You can adjust the time to slow and fast from the pendulum. The rare movement is in outstanding condition. The bellows and pipes work great. The clock is all-original. The bone hands are original. (See pictures) The clock measures 26 inches high with the pendulum, by 14 " wide and 7 inches deep.
