Here we have a RARE find and that would be an original and authentic 1879 WHITMAN McCLELLAN US Military saddle. Conceaaved as a better saddle then the common McClellan saddle not many were ever produced and most were issued to officers. Saddle is complete with it's stirrups, cinch [ Girth]and other rigging as shown. I think these areoriginal but I am no expert please see my photos.Leather is the old brown ruset color. I would say that condition is GOOD - VERY GOOD, ssome damage to the thin leather covering on the bottom of the saddle, rest of the leather is solid. Not dried out, oil soaked etc.Rigging is fine. Tree seems to be fine....I'm no expert on antique US Military saddles so best to look at all my photos which shows this sadddle fromall angles and make up your own mind....A rare classic US indian war saddle that I know you will love...Starting sale off low with and as always actual postage charged depending on where you live [ weighs just over 25 lbs boxed to ship].
