I\'m proud to offer this magnificent antique Continental .833 solid silver (83.3% vs. 92.5% sterling purity) Portuguese repousse rococo shell & scrolling fronds 10\" bowl in an unheard-of sale! It stands 3 1/2\" high, is highly decorative, hallmarked and in all original excellent damage-free condition!
Note that the large 3\" repousse shell & scroll motif decorated rim border repeats at the bottom interior in a 1 1/4\" wide circle. The bottom of the 10\" bowl is raised in a slight concave shape with a curved ridge decoration. Simply gorgeous!
A highly collectible and beautifully decorative example that will make a fantastic decorator piece or a fully functional serving piece. Plus, the bowl has never been monogrammed, a real plus for collectors!
Offered in remarkably excellent condition with no damage of any kind, not even the tiniest pinpoint or ding that I can detect. It stands solidly on it\'s lightly decorated tapered 1 1/4\" high x 4\" diameter pedestal base with no wobble whatsoever. Hallmarked at the lower interior under the smaller repousse decoration \"833\" for .833 Continental solid silver as shown in the closeup photograph. I was unable to find any other hallmarks but was able to determine that this bowl is of Portuguese origin, probably dating to the very early 1900\'s or earlier.
