ANTIQUE QUING DYNASTY CHINESE EMBROIDERED SILK
This is an antique Chinese embroidered silk panel from the Quing dynasty. It is an interesting and fine quality silk I am not certain of its age. It could be an early piece as I have had similar silks before that were late 19th century and this one looks a bit earlier, however I am no expert so please study my photos, all of which can be enlarged and ask any questions. The background colour is a warm peach and the embroidery is in very fine pastel coloured silks. There are moths, bats and flowers.
Measures; 17 x 20 inches wide.
Condition; good and intact, some fading/ discolouration, mainly to the edges and one small hole to the edge. The fabric folded over to the rear has a black border trim which is worn in areas and still has masking tape upon it which I have not removed.
