Antique Rare 18th Century Georgian Solid Silver porringer. Porringers are two handles bowls used in 17th and 18th Century to hold soup or caudle and were often given as present to women following the birth of a child. This example is on a circular foot, parcel gilt, beautifully hand engraved with ribbons. Hallmarked English Silver, London, year 1784 (i), Maker's mark SG (possibly Samuel Godbehere). The piece has the rare octagonal George III Duty mark, in use just from the 1st december 1784 to 1786.

Condition

In Great Condition - no damage, just general wear and worn gilding around the border.
