The movement clock was cleaned and checked for several weeks, has totally serviced(ultrasonically cleaned from dirt and old oil) and adjust by Professional clock specialist,has been oiled,mainspring cleaned and oiled with professional clock non abrasive oil,,clock is ready for another 50 years to go with taking care (oiledevery 2 years) I strongly recommend the set up(re-adjust) after delivery, Movement is marked with ST-(SETH THOMAS)-- movement 89 and is very strong runner .Clack chimes the Hours counting them and every half-hour, You also can see on picture how all clock is clean after cleaning including mechanism.Clack has nice Tick-Tack sound of work.I will including instructions! History of Seth Thomas Adamantine Antique Mantel Clocks

Inthe 1860’s, French clocks in slate, onyx or marble cases became popularin the United States. These cases were expensive, so the American clockmanufacturers produced similar looking cases made of iron or wood. These clocks have become known to collectors as “Black Mantel Clocks”, and were popular from 1880 to 1931.

SethThomas made clocks in marble cases for a short time, from 1887 to ca. 1895. They also made clocks in iron cases finished in black enamel, from1892 to ca. 1895. Seth Thomas is well known for their “Adamantine” black mantel clocks, which were made starting in 1882. Adamantine is a celluloid veneer, glued to the wood case. Adamantine veneer was made in black and white, and in colored patterns to clock fas wood grain, onyx and marble.

Adamantineveneer was developed by the Celluloid Manufacturing Company of New YorkCity, and was covered by U.S. Patent number 232,037, dated September 7,1880. Seth Thomas Clock Company purchased the right to use the Adamantine veneer in 1881Thisclock is an antique. If you expect a clock which doesn’t contain any scratches or imperfections, do not purchase my clocks. Many of them are over one hundred years old, and while well restored, the evidence of their age is apparent.
