Antique Shiebler Flora Pond Lily Openwork 1893 Chicago Columbian Exposition:
Shiebler Columbian Exhibition Sterling Souvenir Spoon Machinery Hall
This mint codition Shiebler demitasse souvenir spoon is one of two I bought this week relating to the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, and one of four I will be listing here on now. This very heavy spoon in the Flora Pond Lily pattern is an interesting variant with it's cut out background and bears a patent date of 1889. Marked with Shieblers hallmark and the word STERLING struck over an opening in the handle. Hand engraved in the bowl is a depiction of the Machinery Hall, one of the centerpieces of this famous " White City" Columbian Exhibition.
LENGTH 4 1/8inches 10.5 cm
WEIGHT .77 Troy ounces
