Aesthetic Movement Bronze Mounted Anglo Japanese Vase
This terrifically strong AngloJapanese Aesthetic movement vase was retailed by Tilden Thurber in Providence Rhode Island. I am not sure who the maker is, but I bet many of the cleverer
Art Pottery dealers will recognize the mark. The quality and strength of this cloisonne style decoration is striking. The gilded grotesque mounted base and rustic bamboo form top, are probably clues to the maker as well.
My first guess would be French, but it could just as well be English or even American....I just don't know.
Condition is superb, only very slight bending and wear to the mounts as an apology. Nice vase.
