This handsome silver plate serving tray which dates fromthe early 1900scomes from an estate, and it resembles those by BARKER ELLIS of England although we see no identifying marks. It measures 17 inches in diameter and has an elaborate border featuring a shell design. The initial D appears at the center and the tray is supported by 3 feet. The tray has been used by several generations to hold champagne glasses and such at holiday parties and it makes a dramatic presentation.There are no dents or other significant damage to thepiece but it might be a good idea to brighten it up with silver polish. We have not attempted to do this as some people prefer the patina it has acquired with age.
