ANTIQUE STERLING SOLID SILVER & ETCHED GLASS VASE CHESTER 1909 8.5" TALL
Description
Welcome to my sale.
solid silver & etched glass vase.
Hallmarked Chester 1909.
The silversmith makers mark - "J & R G" - J & R Griffin (Joseph & Richard Griffin).
The silversmiths mark is quite rubbed.
A large & nicely shapedvase which is 8.5 inches or 21.5 cms tall.
The diameter at the top of the vase is 4.2 inches or 10.7 cms.
The diameter at the base is 3.2 inches or 8.3 cms.
The vase weighs - 420 grams approx.
Beautifully decorated glasswith machine etched wavy lines, loops & circles.
With no chips to the glass just age related minor surface marks.
There are no holes or splits in the silver.
The silver circularbase being slightly stepped & weighted.
There are a few minor pin sizedings to the base but nothing that detracts.
The solid silver turned out rim is firmly secured to the glass.
There is some un- eveness/dings tothe silver to the top flatpart of the rim -
The vase stands firmly with no wobbles.
