SUPERB - Stunning Design & Condition - 21 1/2 troy oz.
This is a really outstanding, substantial and elegant English ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN solid sterling silver THREE PIECE BACHELOR TEA SET which was made in Sheffield, England in 1906 by the famous Victorian silversmiths, Roberts & Belk at their Furnival Street workshops. . This wonderfully stylish and fine quality set comes from a private country house and is insuper condition. It consists of a beautiful teapot, a pretty milk jug and a two handled sugar bowl. Every piece is fully hallmarked - the teapot is hallmarked with R&B, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),leopard head, land the sugar bowl and milk jug is hallmarked R&B, crown, lion passant, o showing that the set was hallmarked in London and Sheffield in 1906. This wonderful set has a stunning and very stylishEdwardian shape in a circular shape with baluster sides, decorated edges, scroll handles and a fruit wood handle and finial to the teapot. This set is abachelor sized tea set and is of really good quality. The set weighs667.1 grams - giving a total weight ofvirtually 21 1/2troy oz. This set is NOT engraved.
The teapot (capacity ofa full 1imperial pint) measures 4 3/4" in diameter,8 7/8" from spout to handle and stands4 5/8" tall. The milk jug measures 2 7/8" in diameter,4 1/2" from spout to handle and stands 3 1/4" tall. The sugar bowl measures 3 3/4" in diameter,over 5 1/2" across the handles and stands 3 1/4" tall.
The sugar bowl is in lovely condition with less than the usual light surface scratching and no splits or repairs,very littledistortion and NO dents with one ding. The milk jug is in lovely condition with less than the usual light surface scratching and no splits or repairs, NO dents, almost NO dings and NO distortion. The teapot is in lovely condition with less than the usual light surface scratching and no splits or repairs, NO dents and NO dings with NO distortion. The teapot finial is still firm with little looseness and NO distortion to the hinge and NO spring to the lid. There is NO play to the teapot handle -with just the usual wear. Very minor defects that I mention only for complete accuracy.
A really SUPERB set as you can see from the photographs in superb condition afterover 110years- at a VERY low start and !!! Postage will be 6.00GBP both within the UK and to international destinations.
