ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BLACK SATIN & SOUTACHE BRAID MOURNING GOWN ENSEMBLE c1900 DescriptionWonderful late Victorian black satin 2 piece mourning gown, which has been decorated with soutache braid in floral design. The bodice is trimmed with black net, forming high collar neckline, and has elaborate fastening system to the front. The skirt is been produced from the same black satin, and has unusual steel popper fastening system, and appears to drape across the front of the body.AGEVictorian, circa 1900

CONDITIONThe gown is in a very good condition for age, although there is wear and holes to the net on the bodice. There is also a small tear to one of the sleeves. The skirt does have several small moth type holes, plus there is a small seam split/tear to the waistband. There is also some wear to the soutache braid trim to the front of the skirt. Please refer to the above photographs for details of condition, as these given more detailed information.
