The sheath has simple turned handlewith hole to the centre to hold a needle.AGEKnitting sheaths were used in Great Britain from as early as the 15th through to the end of the 19th century, although this sheath would date to the middle of the 19th century, circa 1850. SIZEThe sheath measures 19cm (7½") long and 1.5cm (½") in diameter. CONDITIONThe sheath is in a very condition for age, although has been well used and as to be expected there are marks and scratches to the wood, with several cracks to the wood.
