A beautiful antique, circa 1875, Eastlake Victorian Shadow Box Frame that is made of gesso over wood and has a carved design. Inside the frame is an arrangement of dark purple flowers (I'm not sure what they are made of), brown dried sprigs, and green leaves. It is in the shape of a cross and was a symbol of mourning. This frame measures approximately 11 1/2" high x 9 1/2" across x 2 3/4" deep. It is in good condition with only normal wear to the gesso, with a nick here or there (some spots have been touched up). The cross looks good and the material on the inside looks like velvet. The old wire for hanging is still attached. The back is covered in a type of paper that is torn and shows wear. Everything else looks great! A very nice, antique, framed mourning cross to add to any collection. Being offered with .
