Antique Victorian Saphiret Glass Brooch
Thislovely Victorian bar brooch is claw-set with four identical real saphirets in a giltbrass mount.
Each rose-cut, foiledstone measures 9mm across, and has the mysterious fawn-to-blue colour shift of saphiret, an artifical stone produced by mixing glass with molten gold, and out of production since the early 20th century due to rising precious metal prices.
