Antique Victorian Samuel Alcock Tea/coffee For Two Breakfast Set/service Rare:
1820 to 1840 Samuel Alcocks Tea & Coffee Set very ornate and finely detailed and beautifully hand paintedin shades of pink, puce, and lilac. The set consists of a very large tea pot with a sucrier that is equally and everybit as detailed, ornate and grand,a very pretty cream or milk jug, four preserve dishes,I would say for jam, marmalade, honey and butter and two trios. "PLEASE" note that it is unusual in the fact that this set has a propertea cup and the other is a coffee cup, also the the tea or side plate is a good and generous size which shows nicely for display when the three pieces of the trio are placed one on top of the other,as in the photo.I have saved the best till last and this is that ALL twelve pieces are in very beautiful condition showing no chips,cracks,hair-lines,crazing,scuffs or grazes, this I would describe as rare to find a set of this type and age in such perfect condition, bearing in mind that this set is a maximum of 193 years old or a minimum of 173 years old.Thetea potis 8" in height and 10 3/4" from handle to spout, creamer 5 1/2" in height, sucrier 7".Both trio sets include saucers 5 3/4" across and main plates 7".The cups are 2 1/2" and 2 3/4" in height, and those delightful small preserve dishesare just 4 1/2" across.A truly beautiful and very rare tea/coffee set indeed, steeped in history, intrigue and mystery.Gorgeous item. Please notethat I will pack this item not only post proof, but bomb proof !
