For your consideration, this TRUE antique/vintage late 1800s/early 1900s handmade patchwork FOLK-ART quilt in an old RARE pattern called Flying Geese, Pinwheel, or Wild Goose Chase -- this is a post-Civil War quilt, and will work well with PRIMITIVE FARMHOUSE decor, but would be equally at home in a MODERNE ART LOFT! -- great GRAPHICS, using BOLD jewel-tones and multi-colors including cranberry, indigo blue, poison green, madder brown, black, tan, cream and others -- all old 100% cotton fabrics including TONS of early CALICOS -- nice straight edges, and narrowly binded and backed in tiny checked cotton that has the coarse-texture of HOMESPUN -- very light-weight batting which is definitely 100% hand-combed cotton -- the quilt measures 66" x 74", and was totally hand-pieced and hand-quilted in generous diagonal rows at 6-7 tiny stitches per inch -- everything nicely done, while still maintaining a FABULOUS primitive FOLK-ART presence -- in VERY GOOD antique condition for its age -- light wear/gentle usage -- strong, sturdy, everything intact, EXCEPT for some tiny frays and shatters thru-out the piecework (way less than expected for this old of a quilt) -- colors CRISP and VIBRANT -- fairly CLEAN with some light surface soil and a few age spots/stains (mostly on the backing) -- no other issues to report -- these old beauties are getting harder and harder to find -- this quilt would be PERFECT for country farmhouse or Victorian decors, laid across your bed, stacked in your quilt cabinet, or CELEBRATED by displaying on the wall as a great piece of TEXTILE ART! -- a true collector's piece....and the price is right!
