Antique Vintage 1904 Framed Religious Print Woman And Child By Beatrice Tonnesen:
Very old framed print of a really pretty lady with her arms outstretched with what looks like a halo around her head. She is dressed in a white gown with a robe or cloak draped over one arm. Standing in front of her is a young child dressed in a white robe holding some Easter lilies. In very small print lower left, the print is marked Copyright B. Tonnesen. Marked lower right corner in very small print Suppl. St. Louis Sunday Post-Dispatch, April 3, 1904. The print is behind the original glass. The print looks to be in very good condition with no stains or creases. It is probably a bit darkened from age. The only flaw I see is a mark on the left side right above the woman's hand. This is probably due to a backing nail coming through.
Total measurements of picture frame are 12 1/4 x 14 1/4 inches. The picture frame is made of wood and gesso and there is damage most notably to the gesso at the top of the frame and there is also a bit of damage to the lower right and lower left corners. The paper backing is still there, but barely- it is quite brittle. No hanging wire but the hooks are still present to easily run a hanging wire. The glass is the original old glass and has a few light scratches.
Considering this is 102 years old, it is in remarkable condition. If I were to keep it, I would just apply some old gold paint to the damage at the top of the frame and leave it as is.
