This is a lovely plate marked Z.S.&Co. BAVARIA(ZEH SCHERZER & Co. ca. 1880-1918) andbearing a Beehive decorating mark.The plate is decorated with a woman\'s portraitwhere you can see hand painted strokes( the veil and the flowers.)The same portrait, on a Dresden Donath plate,framed differently and coloreddifferently, is featuredon the book \"DecorativePlates, Identification andValue Guide\" by Harran.The plate is presented with \"a center medallion ofhand painted portrait\". In it the coloring of the ladyand the color of the flowers are different.The portrait here is framed by gold stenciled designs.The pierced, scalloped and embossed borderis gold brushed on the edge.The plate is 8 1/4\" in diameter and is in greatcondition with no cracks, chips nor repairs.The portrait itself is in perfect condition.
