Hello and welcome- I'll belistinga variety of mostly vintage (some antique) lacetrims this week and next. Use in making doll dresses, period costumes, lingerie,

dressed up bears, and more.

All the laces and trims for sale are either invery good, new, unused vintage condition, or in used, but usable condition andhave been examined for flaws, but,may need to be laundered, due to being stored and yellowed, or may have spots. There may be an occasional hole or tear. I will mention something if I notice it.I am not a lace expert-, and may miss something occasionally. ;-) so, suggestions welcome.

Up for offer is an exquisite antique or vintage hand made Brussels Duchesse point de gaze lace collar. I am not an expert, and am learning as I go, but even for someone as new to this as I am, I can tell this is a pretty special collar. It is in very good condition I think, with only a few minor areas where the thread that attached one flower to a swirly thing, came loose.

It was "taken up" at one time, and there is an overlap on each side. They look like darts. It can be unstitched, and then extend to it's original length, if you like. It features an assortment of roses,flowers in various sizes, swirls, swoops, sprigs, buds, shamrocks, dots, stems, picot, leaves and many layers of needlework, making some petals appear more opaque or translucent than others, giving it a three dimensional quality. Some of the petals appear shaded, they worked so minutely.. The threads are very fine, worked around thin gimp to form outlines and emphasis. The edge is free form and organic, with blossoms edging out past the boundary, yet it is symmetrical.

At it's widest point, it's 6" and tapers down to 2" at the tips. It's 32" around on the inside edge, and 42" around the outside edge.

There are some small spots, mainly brownish red. There is some pronounced yellowing around some edges. It's a soft, slightly yellowed, creamy white. There are many photos, and please look these over closely- as they give the best description.
