This lamp is very art deco in style and color. All parts of this lamp were taken apart, inspected, and cleaned it inside and out. No signs of ever being neglected, rusted, or dented, Thecast iron base, breaks, bridge and solid brass glass mounts are a gorgeous patina. To clean, just dustwith a swiffer duster or soft cloth--NO CHEMICALS, WINDEX, FURNITURE POLISH--just soft polishing. A paintbrush can be used occasionally for the crevases.Damp cloth for spills. NOTHING ELSE.
Thepull chain fat boyand Shade Holder are in fabulous condition. This socket ischaracteristic of early bridge lamps. The condition of the Brass on this Socket is a testament to the quality of early electrical lighting made in American in the early electric age. This lamp has been rewired with period cloth cord with old acorn style plug. The only part of this lamp that is new is the lampwire and (that is how it should be).The glass lamp shade, not original to this lamp,is in perfect antique condition with no chips, cracks, rough spots at all!!! I specifically chose this shade for this lamp for its shape, color, condition.
