Art Nouveau Meyle & Mayer Lavender Plique -a-jour Enamel Sterling Necklace For SaleNicer than my photos show. Very hard to find necklace is signed Depose Sterling with the butterfly mark of the German company Meyle & Mayer. Dates from approx 1900. Bezel set blister pearl is centered in art nouveau plaque with lavender colored plique-a-jour enamel. Fresh water pearl dangles from bottom. The chain is long open links with tube style catch often seen with these necklaces. Remarkably the enamel is undamaged with no holes, missing portions or scratches I can find under 10X magnification. The sterling plaque and chain are also in good condition. The catch works perfectly. The only irregularity I see is that one side of the chain is one link shorter. I can't say if it was made this way to perfectly fit original owners neck or not. Could also use a good cleaning as there is some tarnish. Center plaque is 1 1/2" wide by 1 1/2" top to bottom of dangle pearl. For a small neck the necklace measures only 14 3/4" long. I'm sure some links could be added for more length.
