ART NOUVEAU Solid Silver JEWELLERY BOX 1912 Hallmarked Sterling ANTIQUE NR
5+ troy oz - Williams of Birmingham - LOVELY RARE BOX
This is a lovely ANTIQUE solid sterling silver mounted jewellery box that was made in Birmingham, England in 1912 by the famous Victorian silversmiths, Williams of Birmingham at their Goodman Street workshops. It has a green velvet lining and a black film base and the lid is also lined. It measures4 3/8" long by 2 1/4" deepby 1 1/4" high to the top of its lid - the lid has gorgeous ART NOUVEAU embossed flower decoration. The ensemble weighs162.6 grams -virtually 5 1/4troy oz. It is engraved with AFB.
The base bears the hallmark of WB over Ld, anchor, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),n - I have shown the hallmarks so you can make up your own mind. It is in very good condition with less than the usual light surface scratching and has gaineda few dings dents over the last100 years and has NO spring or distortion to the hinge, NO splits, NO repairs andNO loss of lining, just the usual wear - SUPERB. A really rare high quality ANTIQUE jewelry box IN SUPER CONDITION afterover 100 years at a very low start!!!!!!! Postage will be 5.50GBP both within the UK and to international destinations.
