This is a stunning, vintage molded glass Austrian double raspberry fruit pin brooch signed Austria.Austria manufactured these glass fruit pins in the 1940-50s for export to the U.S. The glass is backed with a foil and give these pins a unique mirror shine. The brooch measures a little over 2 inches long by 1.5 inches wide and is signed Austria (stamped) on the back. It features two berries with a spray of three leaves on top. The black metal on this has been japanned. This set is white/clear frosted glass and set with a single clear white rhinestone. I had a hard time photographing the pin’s true beauty while still trying to show off the detail. The first photo in the series was shot outdoors with natural lighting and shows how vibrant the mirror/frosted white color is. The other pics were taken indoors so I could capture the details of the glass, but they turned out more gray-looking than the pin really is. It’s in wonderful shape! The nice thing about it being clear/frost is that it goes with any color you want to wear it with. These pins are still a good investment for the vintage jewelry collector.
