Hermès founded in 1837 primarily as a Sellier or Sadlery, by Thierry Hermès quickly gained a reputation for luxurious leathers and quality craftsmanship. 170+ years later and Hermès is stronger than ever, using only the finest skins in the World to handmake each and every H bag.
The now infamous Hermès Birkin was originally modelled from the iconic Haut à Courroies
In 1892, Émile-Maurice Hermès, grandson of the founder Thierry, introduced the Haut à Courroies or Hac as it is known, which translates loosely as *High Belts*, referring to the belt straps that are used to close the bag. The Hac was inspired by the totes he had witnessed the Argentinian gauchos using to carry their riding equipment on his trip to South America.
The Hac is produced entirely by a single craftsperson with the same attention to detail as the Birkin. Each beeswax coated linen thread stitch is intricately sewn by hand, using the infamous Hermès double needle saddle stitch. This ensures that should a stitch become loose, the remaining stitches will not unravel because of this double needle technique.
The hardware is applied by a method unique to Hermès called pearling where each nail is hammered by hand until they resemble a small pearl!

This authentic Hermès Hac is in exceptionally good pre-owned condition with wear consistent to very light use. There is some wear/blushing to the corners, superficial rubbing to the piping and the slightest of surface scuffs to the front skin that can only be seen at an angle, if at all. Hermès offer a reasonably priced refurbishment service wheretheycan improve onimperfections if required. The hardware shows scratching consistent with light use.
This is not a brand new, never used, straight from the store bag and potential buyers should consider that this bag has been worn and carried. The bag will have blemishes/wear as described and odours may be present consistent with the bag being used/carried /stored by its previous owner/s.
