Robert Todd Lincoln was the first son of Abraham Lincoln and Mary Ann Todd.

Born on August 1, 1843 in Springfield, Illinois, he was the only one of President Lincoln's four sons to die in old age. He passed away on July 26, 1926 in Vermont. He held the rank of Captain in the Civil War, serving on the staff of Ulyssess S. Grant.

He was appointed by President James Garfield to Secretary of War serving from 1881 to 1885 under Presidents Garfield and Chester A. Arthur. His achievements were too many to list.
