Abraham Lincoln Signed Military Document from Civil War Description

Abraham Lincoln Signed Military Document from Civil War

This incredible piece measures approximately 34.5 "x 28" Framed

As the Civil War raged on in 1863, certain military functions, such as the promotion and advancement of military officers, stood as ongoing necessities. With their dramatic engravings and commanding size, these military commissions are among the finest of mediums for a presidential signature. President Abraham Lincoln affixed his name to this 15.75” x 19.25” military commission appointing W.L. Brakeman as Hospital Chaplain.

The 16th President of the United States meticulously executed his full-name, “Abraham Lincoln” signature just below the partly printed text. His Secretary of War countersigned the vellum document, adding “Edwin M. Stanton” beside the President’s flowing signature. This covenant between appointee and Commander in Chief exhibits fine display properties (intersecting folds to the periphery), and its embossed, turquoise paper seal remains fully intact. Lincoln’s signature is strongly penned. Attractively housed in a museum-quality framed display. Lincoln is arguably the most influential U.S. President in history. Given his significance to the country, most official signed documents reside in the Library of Congress or such esteemed museums as the Smithsonian. Very few genuine documents are available for public consumption. Be one of the select few to own a true piece of authentic United States history! This piece comes complete with PSA/DNA authentication.
