Adorable 27" Black African American Cloth Artist Doll A/o Signed Limited 10/35 For Sale
This signed artist doll is just adorable- and beautifully made. She has an oil painted (or possibly acryllics) cloth head with lovelyglass violet eyes which have upper and lower lashes. Her head is tipped forward slightly, giving her a shy look. Her hair, which is in tiny beaded braids, is a heavy paper, painted black. Her cotton body is disc jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. Her outfit, which is expertly sewn, includes a dress with a black and white houndstooth pattern and white cotton collar and sleeved, trimmed with red piping, a fine cotton onesie, white, lace-trimmed socks, and black patent shoes with satin bows. On her neck she is signed by the artist, but I can't decipher the signature. It looks like "Barbra Jan ..."and a last name I can't read at all. It also says "10/35", which I assume means there were 35 made.Above the signature it says what looks like "Tamara", which I assume is the name of the doll. She is in excellent condition with a couple imperfections.There are a couple very small spots on her face, two specks of missing paint under her chin, and light scratches,most likely from her braids, on her forehead. (On the back of her head white fabric is visible where the brown paint ends.) Her clothes are also in excellent condition, with no holes or soil.
