Adorable Antique Old West Kids Saddle And 2nd Set Of Fenders For Sale
Here is a wonderful project saddle and some spare stirrups fenders and tapaderos thrown in for good measure. I love restoring antique saddles and picturing the people, way back then, riding them and living in the old West. So I've had a room full - this one is the last one I meant to restore, but I'm selling a house and hands are getting to arthritic for this hobby. This is a small child's saddle - I'd say the seat is 10 1/2 - 11", depending on how you measure. It is quite old and has seen lots of trails. I did not pull itapart to check the cinch ring rigging, so I cannot tell you if it is safe to pull out of the box and use, as is. Otherwise, it is very rideable. There are many cosmetic repairs and attentions it could use to restore it to a great example of a kids saddle from it's era. New sheepskin, re stitching on underside of fenders, new skirt, trim around the pommel, strings, etc. Or, you could just make sure the straps holding the cinch rings to the tree are sturdy and ride it as is - a cool old saddle that carried many a little cowboy or girl. The gullet measures 6" from firstconcho, to firstconcho. Sheepskin is worn off, so it would be 5", otherwise. I'm sure the fenders have been replaced sometime in it's life, and they are especially nice ones. I am throwing in a 2nd set of fenders that are here in my shop: (note: they are not a perfect match, look closely at the very top of these extra fenders, one is more tear drop shape than the other), in case buyer prefers them for 1) their buckles or 2) style. Also included is a little set of tapaderos I meant to put on it just for fun. If you are a saddle restoration person or a collector, here is a very nice lot of tack to use however you need to.
