Aesthetic Period Silverplate Covered Caviar Berry Dish Bowl:this lovely piece has a lot going for it. The base is classic Aesthetic periodwith great detail on the handles and feet and nice engraving around the collar.The top is sporting a sejant lion with a shield draped around its neck. Theshield is blank. The piece is unmarked except for some strange writing on thehandles. I found a samovar with the exact same design, which was marked Reed & Barton Design, Pat Aug 12, 1873. This most likely from the same maker and period. Inside is a thick glass dish with small perforations in it in order todrain into the cavity below, which can also hold ice. The back has a bracketthat can hold a small spoon or other implement to serve. There is virtually no plate losson this piece, which is clearly over 100 years old and overall it is in verygood condition. The inside of the base has some pitting as its only flaw.

Measurements are:diameter is 8 ½” handle to handle and 8 ½” tall.
