Al Smith N.y. Governor & Presidential Candidate Signed Letter:
The Hall of Governors in the state capitol at Albany has official portraits of all New York State governors. Al Smith’s portrait is among them. In the letter offered in this sale Smith is responding to questions asked about the portrait by William Lamborn. Lamborn was the receptionist for many New York governors, including Smith, over a 50 year period of time. The Smith letter is dated July 7, 1941 and is typed on Empire State, Inc. This was the name of the corporation which built and operated the Empire State Building and Smith served as its president. There is a watermark of the Empire State Building on the stationary. The letter is in very good condition with crease marks from having been folded for mailing. I will include a copy of an article about William Lamborn as provenance for the signature. Seller guarantees its authenticity. Buyer pays $3.00 s/h
