Circa 1880. The torture of a witch:a shaman's carving with alder bark still attached. Circa1909 Ye Olde Curiosity Shop label. Disturbing & never-before-seen artifactfrom Standley's original collection. Theartifact has been stained by what appears to be an organic dye: blackberry? ~In 1909 The Smithsonian and several other North American museumstraveled to Seattle by sailing ship & train. They purchased much of Standley's collection. Even today, thoseearly foundation & most highly priced Pacific Northwestartifacts for each of those institutions.Measures about 12" tall.Shipping will be $10.95 to any U.S. address.
