Beautiful, large 24\" tall, outstanding model by Alt, Beck & Gottschalck, Germany, c.1870, unglazed bisque (parian) shoulderhead child, incised: 1000 on the back edge of her deeply molded shoulderplate with heavily molded, blond curly hair with thick bangs (see page 48, 12th Blue Book for photo of hairstyle, although the soft finish makes her much prettier). She has big blue painted eyes, double lid lines, closed mouth with divider line, lovely blush, deeply molded shoulders and breasts, hard-stuffed cloth body with leather hands with individual fingers and complete, original antique, pink silk, two-piece fittedoutfit withfine antique buttons, antique lace trim, long pantaloons, matching antique cotton slip andantique teddy shirt, and one original antique black leather shoe. Outstanding child in excellent condition except for an old tight hairline at the edge of her shoulder at the sew holes, (does not show even though her gown is off-the-shoulder in style) and few areas of lace need mending, some silk showing age wear.She is a heavy and very sturdy doll that will look lovely in an antique child\'s chair or small rocker.(#4107 loc 7)
