Amazing Original 4-17 1865 Letter Written By Lincoln White House Employee.rare

A MOST AMAZING LETTER WRITTEN 2 DAYS AFTER PRESIDENT LINCOLN'S ASSASSINATION BY A FELLOW EMPLOYEE AND ACQUAINTENCE OF PRESIDENT LINCOLN WHO WORKED IN THE WHITE HOUSE IN THE PENSIONS OFFICE. THE MAN'S NAME WAS MR EMERT PARKER AND HE MANY OF THESE LETTERS I HAVE TO HIS DAUGHTER HATTIE IN NEW HAVEN CT. THIS ONE MOST LIKELY IS THE MOST HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT BECAUSE IT IS SO CLOSE TO THE DATE OF THE TRAGIC EVENT. THE LETTER STILL IN JUST ABOUT PERFECT CONDITION WITH THE NAME AND SEAL OF THE LOCAL WASHINTON DC PRINTING HOUSE AT TOP LEFT. THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND ,INCREDIBLE HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT LETTER DESCRIBING THE ATMOSPHERE OF WASHINGTON DAYS AFTER THE EVENT. THE LETTER MENTIONS THAT A GENERAL BUTLER WAS BEING CALLED IN AND THAT PRESIDENT JOHNSON WAS BEING BLESSED. ALSO MENTIONS THE INJURY OF MR SEWARD. BEAUTIFUL WRITING ABOUT THE LOSS OF A FATHER WHO TRULY LOVED THE COUNTRY AND THE COUNTRY LOVING HIM. THE DISBELIEF WRITTEN THAT PRESIDENT LINCOLN IS NO MORE. WRITING ABOUT THE TOTAL CLOSURE OF WASHINGTON WITH ALL OFFICES CLOSED AND ALMOST TOTAL LOSS OF SUPPLIES FOR PEOPLE. A GOOD DEAL OF INFORMATION ABOUT PEOPLE HUNTING DOWN THE REBELS AND FOR EXTREME MEASURES IN WASHINGTON. ONLY OFFICES WILL WORK OUT OF NECCESSITY IN WASHINGTON. LAST PARAGRAPH DESCRIBING THE HOSPITALS AND THE HORRIBLE INJURY AND CASES COMING IN.THE SIGNATURE IS CLEAR AND BEAUTIFUL.I AM CONFIDENT MR PARKER KNEW MR LINCOLN CASUALLY BY REFERENCES IN SOME OF THESE LETTERS. AWESOME ORIGINAL GREAT SHAPE HISTORICAL DOCUMENT FROM THE TIME. GOOD LUCK.
